A Place in His Heart

Title: A Place in His Heart
Author: Rebecca DeMarino
Publisher: Revell/Baker Publishing Group

Anglican Mary Langton longs to marry for love. Puritan Barnabas Horton still grieves the loss of his beloved wife, but he knows his two young sons need a mother. And yet these two very different people with very different expectations will take a leap of faith, wed, and then embark on a life-changing journey across the ocean to the Colonies. Along the way, each must learn to live in harmony, to wait on God, and to recognize true love where they least expect to find it.

This heartfelt tale of love and devotion is based on debut author Rebecca DeMarino's own ancestors, who came to Long Island in the mid-1600s to establish a life--and a legacy--in the New World.

  7. Hi Rebecca and all,

Thanks for your patience; I work part time and also have been plagued with a problem of having only intermittent internet access.

We're trying to figure it out, but I think I will be changing carriers soon. Should have done it last yr., but it seemed to straighten out for awhile. I'm hopeful when it comes back, but neighbors have complained of it too.

Please enjoy yourselves, and pass the word. A winner for Rebecca's book and necklace will be chosen on Sunday, June 16.

    Blessings!

  8. Rebecca,

It would be interesting to know the connection between your ancestors and the characters in the story. I hope you have included that in the back of your book.

The first chapter indicates that yours is a well-written story. All the best to you as you debut it.

Pat, you've created another lovely necklace. Thanks for including it as a prize.

  10. Oh this looks like a must read book! I just had third cousins send me our genealogy which dates back to 1160! I especially love books inspired by someone related or known in history! The cover is breathtaking! If the book hasn't been given out already I sure would love a chance to win it! :) (susanmarlenekinney@gmail.com)
